These terms govern your use of Kontaktivo, a free Gmail Add-on Personal CRM developed by Reto Stuber.
Acceptance
By installing or using Kontaktivo, you agree to these terms. If you don't agree, uninstall the add-on.
What Kontaktivo Is
Kontaktivo is a free Gmail Add-on that helps you track and manage professional relationships. It reads your email, scores relationships, stores data in a Google Sheets spreadsheet, and uses Google's Gemini AI for summaries and follow-up detection. An optional, disabled-by-default enrichment feature sends contact names and email addresses to a developer-operated Cloud Run service. See the Privacy Policy for details.
License and Cost
Kontaktivo is free software. There is no cost, no subscription, and no premium tier. The source code is available on GitHub.
No Warranty
Kontaktivo is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to:
- Fitness for a particular purpose
- Accuracy of relationship scores or AI-generated summaries
- Uninterrupted or error-free operation
- Compatibility with future Google API changes
AI-generated summaries and follow-up suggestions may be inaccurate, incomplete, or inappropriate. Always review them before acting.
Your Responsibilities
- Your Google account security — Kontaktivo relies on your account's security. Use strong passwords, enable 2FA, and follow Google's security recommendations.
- OAuth permissions — you voluntarily grant the requested permissions during installation. You understand what access you are providing (see Privacy Policy for details).
- Optional enrichment — if you enable profile enrichment, you consent to sending contact names and email addresses to the developer-operated service described in the Privacy Policy.
- Compliance with laws — you agree to use Kontaktivo in compliance with applicable laws, including data protection regulations in your jurisdiction.
- Backup — while your data lives in Google Sheets (which has version history), maintaining backups of important data is your responsibility.
In the installed version, the developer provides the default Gemini API key. You can enter your own key in Settings and are then responsible for its usage and any associated costs. If you self-host Kontaktivo, you provide and manage your own key.
Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any:
- Loss of data
- Loss of business or revenue
- Indirect, incidental, or consequential damages
- Damages arising from Google API changes, outages, or policy changes
- Damages arising from AI-generated content (summaries, suggestions)
- Unauthorized access to your Google account
Total liability is limited to zero dollars ($0) — this is free software with no revenue.
Third-Party Services
Kontaktivo depends on Google services (Gmail, Google Sheets, Google Calendar, Gemini API) and, if you enable enrichment, on a Cloud Run service operated by the developer. These services have their own terms:
The developer is not responsible for changes, outages, or policy changes by Google that affect Kontaktivo's functionality.
Termination
You can stop using Kontaktivo at any time by uninstalling the add-on and deleting the spreadsheet. No notice required, no penalties, no data held hostage.
The developer may discontinue the project at any time without obligation to maintain, update, or support it.
Changes to These Terms
These terms may be updated. Changes will be posted to the project repository. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance. If you disagree with updated terms, uninstall the add-on.
Governing Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, United States of America, without regard to conflict of law principles.
